I started making this smoothie for breakfast, its very healthy and quite scrumptulescent as well, thought I would share:

8oz Orange Juice
2oz Soy Milk (regular milk would probably work but my roommate is lactose intolerant)
8oz Vanilla yogurt
1/3-1/2 cup of raw, uncooked oats
Handful of frozen strawberries
A frozen banana
A Whey protein scoop
Squirt of Honey
Spoonful of peanut-butter
1 tbsp of flax-seeds

Blend, enjoy, makes enough for about two glasses.

Sometimes I substitute Apple juice for the OJ and toss blueberries or raspberries in for the strawberries and bananas.

If you grow a flax seed, what does it turn into? I will give this recipe to my lovely wife so she can make this delicious treat for me.

My friend...

Just a heads up... Vanilla yogurt also contains lactose...

Yogurt does contain lactose, but my roommate is very intolerant of the stuff and he can drink these w/o a problem. Thanks for catching that, Mrs. Ewing!

Smoothies are ever a joy to behold.

Have you tried veggie smoothies? Avocados [a fruit] are similar to bananas in acting as a creamy thickening agent, while providing healthy amounts of saturated fats - when added in appropriate amounts.

I would warn you about soy.
In essence, it is known to be mucus-causing (within your gastrointestinal tract), and potentially carcinogenic as well. This is with organic soy. Who knows what the high percentages of genetically-engineered soy have tendency to do.

Rice milk or almond milk seems to work out well, in smoothies or otherwise, even as a cooking replacement for soy milk or bovine milk.
